How It Works

On one side, you have all these high-traffic media websites (Google, myspace, Facebook, Yahoo!, PR Web, etc.) that need updated content on a regular basis in order to stay timely and relevant to their audiences.

On the other side, authors like you are looking for ways to get more promotional mileage out of the various forms of content (audio, video, press release, blog post, etc.) you are creating.

Promote A Book Media bridges the gap in-between. We assemble, edit, reformat, optimize and distribute your content to 200 of the highest-traffic media sites on the Web today. And then they distribute it to thousands more.

Permanent Media Placement Process:

  1. Assemble your media. This is actually very easy once you realize how much content you actually produce. And how much is sitting on the shelf.
  2. Develop the media delivery program. We cover this in detail with you. This is the "how far, how often, and how much budget.
  3. Develop your online visibility objectives. As you gain traction with your program, you'll see a "tipping point" of results. At that point, you might turn up the gas, or back off a bit, depending on your goals.
  4. Deliver the media to our target portal partners. This is all us. We do the heavy lifting here.
  5. Secondary optimization of the media. Again, this is on our plate.
  6. Track results. Feedback is critical to measuring results. So we provide it often, and in detail.

What Makes This Process Better Than The Rest?

Our PMP technology ensures that your content appears on the sites your audience visits most often. Distributing your content in multiple formats takes full advantage of Universal Search because it creates a balance between visual elements (video and images) and text-based elements (web pages, documents, PDF's and blogs). We understand how all that comes together in a search engine interface, which allows us to better manage your content as an online visibility agent.

Typical content syndication focuses on a specific medium. Video syndicators send videos to media sites that host videos. Audio syndicators send audio files to media sites that host audio. Press release syndicators send press releases to media sites that host press releases. And so on.

As a contrast, Promote A Book Media manages and distributes multiple formats of content simultaneously. We send your podcasts, videos, press releases, blog posts, and more to the 200 highest traffic, most relevant media syndicators at once. Nobody else does it this way.

What is a "Broadcast"?

Our Broadcast is a distribution of media. This is where we develop various media assets from your content, optimize each element for search engines, link them together, insert links to your website, and distribute them to video, image, and text media sites - including audio sites, if you have appropriate audio files such as a podcasts or music files.

Editors & Placement

Our Media Editors can use any combination of content elements to create necessary broadcast-ready assets. Then we optimize for your keywords, brand, tag, and link(s).

Next we create highly optimized accounts on the sites of each of our 200 portal partners.

Finally, we broadcast, link, comment, rate, and ping each site to ensure that your media pulls optimum results. Our Permanent Media Placement platform is the only system available that takes raw media and content, edits, optimizes, tags, and keywords it and then broadcasts it to 200 sites simultaneously.

  • Usable: 250k
  • Maximum: 75 megabytes
  • Formats: AIFF; MP3; MP4a; WAV

The audio file is not yet critical to search results, but it's useful for long-term brand support. We do tag these media assets to ensure they are indexed and ready for Google when they begin showing in Universal Search.

Video Requirements

  • Preferred media size: 800x600
  • Usable: 640x480
  • Maximum: 2000x1600
  • Formats: DV; MP4; MOV; AVI; WMV

We want to provide the best possible video image for the current crop of online video sites. Though your media will be converted to Flash on these sites, starting with a quality, moderately sized video is important to the presentation.

Text Requirements

  • Preferred media size: 250+ words
  • Usable: 200
  • Maximum: 1000
  • Formats: TXT; DOC; HTML; RTF; XML; RSS

We can pull text from your website, brochures, blog posts, etc. The key is to craft it as 250-1,000 word documents to keep it keyword rich and fast-reading.

Image Requirements

  • Preferred media size: 1024x768
  • Usable: 800x600
  • Maximum: Unlimited
  • Formats: PNG; GIF; TIF; PSD; JPG

The image should be large enough to work with Photowire services, as well as smaller image galleries. The quality of the images you provide us with should be in the good to excellent range.

Powerpoint, Keynote, etc. Requirements

  • Preferred media size: 5-12 slides
  • Usable: 16-25
  • Maximum: (unlimited - split into 5-12 slide presentations)
  • Formats: PPT; PDF; KEY; FLA; SWF; Ani; GIF

We add either music or voiceover, and brand the beginning and end of your presentation with your logo and URL. A large presentation can become three to four mini-presentations that pull 400-600% more than a single broadcast.

Search Engine Spiders

These are the automated software agents responsible for seeking out relevant content for search engine queries. By consistently broadcasting media assets and content that is "spider optimized," we're able to achieve better search results for you. Over time, you can own a significant amount of online real estate in search results. The ideal scene is to move more of your presence from the paid search listings (edge of the page) to the top and center, above the fold.

Web Searching Eyeballs

This is the human part of search. Search Spiders get you listed in search results. Compelling images, video, articles, press releases, blog posts, and social bookmarks support your brand and create clicks. We focus on providing professionally tagged, key-worded, and integrated media assets that appeal to both search spiders and human interaction.

Content Harmony -

This is a scientific alignment of the four digital media types (video, image, text and audio) to achieve a mesh between media assets. This media mesh drives exponentially better search results over time, outperforming on-page Search Engine Optimization by a significant factor. Each media asset acts as an independent, but highly connected, web element that supports your keywords and marketing message, driving spiders and traffic to your most valuable web properties. The result is content that supports and drives Universal Search, search results that display all forms of media within web search results.

It's Not Just Technology

Technology is important, even key. It does the heavy lifting that would otherwise require days to launch a single media broadcast, let alone a campaign. But technology alone cannot produce perfectly optimized media.

That's why Promote A Book is staffed with a team of seasoned editors, practiced in the art of search engine marketing and marketing to people. These editors touch every piece of content that runs through the Promote A Book engine. So your message isn't just machine friendly, it's human, too.

Which means it makes instant sense.

And it carries the integrity of your message across every media type. Post Optimization of your message is critical, and it takes skilled people to accomplish.
